Illustrated workflow
Keep the event, notice and decision together.
Follow a possible compensation event from its source record to a notice reviewed by the people responsible.
Illustrated engineering workflows, with current product capabilities and the decisions for your people shown on each page.
The example
A project change needs review. This example keeps the event record, confirmed awareness and the notice decision visible together.

The illustrated steps
Keep the source
Retain the email, instruction or project record that raised the event.
Confirm awareness
The responsible person checks the awareness date against the contract and event evidence, then records it for review.
Record the clock
Keep the notice timing with the event record and its source.
Review the notice
The responsible person checks the contract and decides what notice is required. No legal period is assumed in this example.
Authorise the wording
The authorised person reviews the exact notice and intended recipient.
Send through the agreed process
The responsible person handles delivery outside OpsWork and retains the delivery record.
What is built, and where it stops
A recorded clock is not a delivered notice. This illustration does not establish entitlement or guarantee that an event cannot be time-barred.
Current product scope recorded 28 October 2026. Built, switched off means it is not switched on for customers yet. Coming means it is planned and not yet available.
- James: NEC4 early-warning and compensation event clocks
- Built, switched off
Starts the NEC4 notice clock when the managing director confirms awareness of an event.
OpsWork records and times the notice; it does not send it. Real notice delivery is unproved.
- James: Contract, NDA, framework and dispute registers
- Built, switched off
Keeps registers of contracts, NDAs, framework call-offs, disputes and professional indemnity exposure.
Records only, not legal advice.
